Drive for around 110 km to reach Shillong. En route visit Umiam Lake and Barapani Park. After lunch, go for a sightseeing trip as this gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. Visit Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures and Wards Lake. Then, head to the Botanical Garden, which is home to a plethora of exotic plants and rare collection of orchids. You can also visit Lady Hydari Park, which is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses and exquisite flowers. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles and mammals. Visit Golf Course, which is charted amidst a surging valley, full of thick pine groves and rhododendron trees. Post breakfast, take an excursion to Mawlynnong, one of the cleanest villages in Asia. Later, proceed to Dawki and witness the beauty of Umngot River. Dawki-Tamabil is a border between India and Bangladesh. Head back to Shillong and enjoy the overnight stay at a hotel in Shillong. Terrain: Hills

On this day, drive to Cherrapunji and explore the waterfalls and caves. Visit Ramakrishna School and Museum, Eco Park, Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Retire for the day and head to the hotel in Cherrapunji for the overnight stay. Terrain: Hills

Post breakfast, drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, explore Guwahati, the gateway of Northeast. You can visit The Guwahati War Cemetery, Assam State Museum, Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Bhupen Hazarika Cemetery and Regional Science Centre Khanapara. Pay a visit to some popular temples in Guwahati such as Kamakhya Temple, Basistha Temple and Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Mandir. Later, head to Umananda Island, the smallest inhabited island of India, in a ferry. You can visit the Shiva temple that is located on this island. Stay overnight at the hotel in Guwahati.
